Easyfairs consolidates its Empack brand and strengthens Logistics event with the launch of a new brand: Logistics & Automation

The European network of events will offer content adjustments, renewed connections and an exciting experience for the packaging and intralogistics communities in nine countries.

BRUSSELS, 28 November 2019 – Easyfairs, a multi-format event organiser and venue manager, is consolidating its packaging events under the Empack brand. In parallel, Easyfairs is strengthening its Logistics & Distribution brand with the launch of Logistics & Automation, based on the growing integration of packaging and intralogistics processes. Both events will offer the national and European packaging and logistics communities an enhanced view of the technology and innovations that will shape the future of their businesses.

Empack

By integrating all packaging and packaging-related events across continental Europe, plus the new Logistics & Automation event, Easyfairs will leverage the network at a higher level with various cross-border initiatives. For example, it will feature international speakers and thought leaders. This will allow the industry communities to be presented with content that cannot be found online or anywhere else.

“With Empack, Easyfairs brings the latest developments in packaging technologies to the heart of the market through a regular cycle of events. This gives visitors the opportunity to enjoy the convenience of an event in their home country, where they can learn from multinational exhibitors and speakers,” said Paul MacDonald, Global Brand Director, Empack.

Easyfairs UK will continue to organise Packaging Innovations, focusing on packaging design and materials.

Logistics & Automation

Logistics & Automation builds on the previous Logistics & Distribution brand and introduces Logistics & Automation with a focus on expanding the intralogistics sector, while keeping in mind the importance of the sectors involved in transport and distribution.

“The new event will reflect the automation of various physical and management processes, driven by a variety of advances,” said Arnaud Istas, Group Head of Product Development at Easyfairs.

These advances include:

Product customisation and shorter product lifecycles, which are leading to an explosion in the number and diversity of stock keeping units (SKUs), as well as renewed production patterns, which give logistics service providers the opportunity to provide value-added services.
The shortage of skilled workers and the need for speed and reliability, resulting in even greater automation and robotics, deeply embedded in logistics operations.
Advances in machine learning and artificial intelligence, making automated systems smarter than ever before, capable of handling more complex situations, often faster and with fewer errors, improving the profitability of logistics operations and providing a key competitive advantage.
Changes in consumer habits, forcing traditional “remote” warehouses to redesign their storage, handling and customer fulfilment operations and to consider relocation. This presents great opportunities for logistics companies and intralogistics architecture.

“Logistics & Automation will reflect these developments. The events will serve as a unique meeting place that will bring together both end users, engineers/system integrators and ICT professionals,” Istas said.

The Empack and Logistics & Automation events will be held every year or every two years in 10 countries across Europe: a true network of events. Local teams will launch new features over the next two editions of each event.
