Empack and Logistics & Automation Madrid postponed to November 2021

The exhibition will now take place at IFEMA on 24 & 25 November

Madrid, 4 January 2021: Easyfairs, organiser of Empack and Logistics & Automation Madrid, has today announced that the next edition, scheduled for April, will be postponed to Autumn 2021. This difficult decision was made due to uncertainties surrounding the developing pandemic, the ongoing State of Emergency and various national restrictions in place, and the early stages of the vaccine rollout. In order to continue celebrating innovation, supporting learning and maintaining best practice sharing throughout the supply chain, Easyfairs Iberia has launched a series of Digital Tech Congresses.

Easyfairs Iberia’s main goal is to reunite the packaging and logistics community at Empack and Logistics & Automation and support its resurgence following a challenging year. However, following close consultation with the industries, its exhibitors and other key stakeholders, and given the unforeseeable, unavoidable, unprecedented, and global scope of the Coronavirus pandemic, along with the ongoing Force Majeure situation, it is clearly necessary to postpone the exhibition until Autumn 2021.

On 24 & 25 November 2021, Empack and Logistics & Automation, including 200+ exhibiting companies confirmed to date, will return to IFEMA to reveal new innovations, facilitate networking between peers and foster a conducive environment to generate new business opportunities with professionals from across the industry. All of this will take place with the vital safety, sanitary and social-distancing measures needed to ensure all visitors can participate with complete peace of mind.

Oscar Barranco, Divisional Director of Easyfairs Iberia, commented: “I would like to thank the industry from the bottom of heart for its ongoing support and commitment throughout this challenging year; I’m excited and full of hope for what’s to come. Hosting Empack and Logistics & Automation in November represents a return to our previously well-established Autumn dates, an opportune moment in the calendar to do business and one that has always been well received by our community. We are aware of just how crucial it is for all of us involved in the packaging and logistics industries to get back to face-to-face business meetings, and I am convinced that come November we will be able to appreciate and revel in the event more than ever before.”

Empack and Logistics & Automation has also launched a number of digital initiatives that enable professionals within the industry to keep in touch, share experiences and challenges and discover innovations. Barranco highlighted that “through our social channels, monthly content pieces and online offerings, the packaging and logistics communities have been, and will continue to be, united. What’s more, I am delighted to announce that on 24 of February we will be organising the very first Digital Tech Congress: ¿Evolución o revolución? La Automatización Inteligente, which will bring together professionals from the automation and robotics world with expert speakers in this field.”

The agenda includes specialised content produced by industry leaders, such as ABB, HP 3D Printing, CCTV Center, Asociación Española de Robótica, and Rafael Tamames, expert in digitalisation and entrepreneurship and author of the book: ¿Qué robot se ha llevado mi queso? Registration is free and is available on the Empack and Logistics & Automation websites.
