BEC ACOGERÁ EL PRIMER PUNTO DE ENCUENTRO
DE LOS SECTORES DEL PACKAGING Y LA LOGÍSTICA
EN LA ZONA NORTE DE ESPAÑA

  • Empack and Logistics & Automation Bilbao will open the doors of the Bilbao Exhibition Centre (BEC) on 1 and 2 March 2023. The Biscayan capital will thus become part of an international network of leading events in Europe.
  • The event is backed by the sector’s main associations and partners and is backed by more than 14 years of experience in Spain and 5 in Portugal, with undisputed leadership as annual packaging and logistics trade fairs.
  • Empack and Logistics & Automation Bilbao is also, after its success in Madrid, the show chosen by the Easyfairs group to reinforce the launch of Transport & Delivery, the brand that will include the transport and logistics operators’ offer.
11 January 2023.– Empack and Logistics & Automation Bilbao, the first meeting point for packaging and logistics professionals in the north of Spain, will fill the BEC with innovative proposals on 1 and 2 March 2023. This fair will bring together the latest packaging, intralogistics, automation and robotics solutions from the leading companies, organisations and institutions in northern Spain. It will do so with a complete format that includes an exhibition area, spaces for conferences and demonstration areas, and networking activities that will allow visitors to discover, in just a few hours, innovative, more efficient and sustainable solutions that can be applied on a day-to-day basis, and thus optimise their company’s packaging and distribution and logistics. In addition, the Easyfairs group, responsible for the event, will continue with the development of the Transport & Delivery brand, a new space that will accommodate a critical and booming sector such as logistics operators, road, rail and sea transport, couriers & last mile and transport software. Transport & Delivery will have an exhibition area, and will host training and networking spaces for activities, with the aim of generating synergies and relationships between the main stakeholders. The launch of the new trade fair is in line with the strategy of the Easyfairs group, a Belgian multinational that holds 200 events in 14 countries, to take trade fairs to those geographical areas where the professional visitor is located. This is why it has chosen Bilbao, given the industrial strength of the region (not only in the Basque Country but also in adjacent regions such as Cantabria, Asturias, La Rioja and northern Castilla León) and its commitment to digitalisation and sustainability in general and in packaging, logistics and transport in particular. “We are sure that Empack and Logistics & Automation Bilbao will provide the opportunity that the market in Northern Spain has been waiting for, to easily and directly meet the purchasing decision makers of thousands of companies in the area in just two days and with our successful all-inclusive formula,” said Oscar Barranco, Managing Director of Easyfairs Iberia. Easyfairs’ extensive experience in Spain, with the development of packaging and logistics fairs in Madrid (fourteen editions of Empack and ten of Logistics), as well as in Oporto (with five editions held), is joined in this launch by the strong support of the Basque Government and the main associations and partners in the sector, IVL (Basque Logistics Institute), Euskadi Logistics Cluster, Uniport and Port of Bilbao, ICIL, Packnet and the Euskadi Paper Cluster, among others, who will actively participate in the programming of conferences and activities to enhance the quality and interest of the event. Xabier Basañez, General Manager of the Bilbao Exhibition Centre, pointed out that “as a venue we are delighted to add two new events to our calendar for the coming year, and that these are intended to continue. I believe that Empack and Logistics & Automation Bilbao complement our range of specialised trade fairs and will be a very interesting meeting point for industry in the Basque Country. Packaging and logistics play a very important role in the field of sustainability. From BEC we will give our full support to the Easyfairs group, with whom we have an excellent collaboration in other projects, to promote the success of this event”.
