Find out which is the organic wine with the best label
A label can say as much as the wine itself. In the sixteenth edition of the Ecovino Awards, design has taken centre stage with the incorporation of the new award for Best Label Design 2025. The jury, meeting at the Escuela Superior de Diseño de La Rioja, has highlighted a proposal that has managed to combine creativity, emotion and roots with a unique visual concept. The result: a label that reflects the work of winegrowers who make wines with their feet on the ground and their eyes set on the stars.
The Award for Best Label Design 2025, a novelty at the sixteenth edition of the Ecovino Awards, went to El Cosmonauta en el paraje 601, an organic estate wine made by El Mozo Wines, a small family project located in Lanciego (Rioja Alavesa).
The jury met at the Escuela Superior de Diseño de La Rioja (ESDIR) to assess the works submitted. Gracia de Prado, head of the Product Design department and coordinator of the Master’s Degree in Integral Packaging Design at the ESDIR, explained that the design evaluation criteria were based on the quality of the graphic and structural design of the label, taking into account aspects such as the expression of the brand and concept, composition, typography, use of colour and shape, graphic arts and materials. Originality, creativity, topicality and innovative aspects were also valued, taking into account the positive emotional response in the organic wine market.
The label, in an enveloping style, printed on 100% cotton natural paper weighing 130 grams and hand-numbered, has been designed by Moruba and reflects the particular universe of these winegrowers capable of making wines rooted to the land while their imagination travels through the cosmos…
