Mondi reveals how corrugated cardboard packaging can reduce food waste
Mondi has published a new technical report exploring how the right packaging can help food producers and retailers protect product quality and reduce waste in increasingly demanding supply chains. The report, entitled ‘Turning packaging into a competitive advantage in the food supply chain’, shows that handling pressures and packaging performance issues in today’s complex supply chains can lead to product losses, disruptions and damage to brand reputation.
Food producers and retailers operate in increasingly demanding supply chain conditions, where maintaining product quality, managing pressure on margins and meeting consumer expectations requires constant attention and resilience.
According to a NielsenIQ study (‘A “natural” rise in sustainability worldwide’, 2019), 70% of consumers do not buy visibly damaged products, a challenge that puts even greater pressure on producers and retailers to maintain impeccable shelf presentation.
