Américo Ribeiro: “Consumption has changed in the what and the why”.
The general manager of Alcampo starts the special ’76 glances at the past to build the future’.
infoRETAIL – “The changes in mass consumption have been many and very relevant over the last decade, having faced unimaginable situations that we are all aware of, which have reinforced a transformation that had already been taking shape for some time”, says the general manager of Alcampo, Américo Ribeiro, adding that “consumption itself has changed in essence, in the what, the how, the where and the why”.
Among the most important changes that have taken place in recent years, the irruption of technology at the service of everyone, immediacy and the search for experiences, diverse customers, polarised baskets, personalised needs… stand out.
Precisely, technology is one of the three fundamental challenges that commerce must face in the immediate future, together with its environmental dimension and offering a response to a society that is increasingly concerned about its quality of life and wellbeing, “with healthy eating being one of the fundamental pillars”, Ribeiro points out.
