Coalza Systems and Irta Group boost their growth in Africa with projects in 15 countries
The group of companies announces its joint participation in Djazagro, the benchmark event for the agri-food industry in North Africa
Africa: Engine of Population and Economic Growth. Africa stands out as one of the main centers of population and economic expansion in the coming years. This evolution will have a direct effect on food demand, consolidating the continent as an increasingly relevant player in international agribusiness trade. According to forecasts, the African population will grow from 1.5 billion people in 2026 to over 1.8 billion in 2034. This increase will lead to greater demand for basic products such as cereals, oils, meat, and dairy products. The African continent has established itself as a strategic market for the group, where they have already successfully developed more than 120 automation projects in 15 countries. In 2025, both companies carried out 20 commissioning projects, and forecasts for 2026 indicate that this number will be exceeded. So far this year, they have already closed 8 new projects in territories such as Algeria, Cameroon, Morocco, and South Africa, among others. “Africa is experiencing a growing technological transformation that is opening up new opportunities for industrial development. At Coalza Systems and Irta Group, we see this context as a key moment to position ourselves as leading technology partners in the field of vertical packaging and, in collaboration with key local players, contribute to the development of an increasingly competitive global market,” says Gary Nylund, Head of Business Development for Europe and Africa at Coalza Systems and Irta Group. Successful progress in its international growth strategy: 2026 is shaping up to be a particularly ambitious year for the group, in which international growth not only remains a strategic priority but is already reflected in concrete results. In this regard, the value of orders outside of Spain has increased by 121% compared to the same period last year.
