Overtel redefines the traditional concept of manufacturing with INEXION and digitizes it
Overtel goes beyond the traditional MES: INEXION connects machines, ERP and people, interprets what happens on the plant floor and orchestrates production in real time.
The digital transformation of industry is no longer just about automating processes or installing new management systems. Overtel, a technology consultancy based in Cartagena with over 27 years of experience in industrial IT integration, maintains that the current challenge is connecting all factory information to translate it into real-time operational decisions. The company has developed INEXION, its own platform that redefines the traditional concept of a Manufacturing Execution System (MES). "We don't see INEXION as a typical MES, but rather as the digital nervous system of the factory," explains Overtel. The platform connects machinery, ERP systems, and operational knowledge to coordinate and optimize production based on the client's existing technological ecosystem. The solution is already in use by companies with diverse industrial profiles, such as Martin Braun, a leading European supplier of bakery and pastry ingredients, and Frimaq, a Murcia-based packaging machinery manufacturer belonging to the Tecselor Group. Both companies use the same platform despite operating with very different production models. “That adaptability is what makes the difference between traditional software and an operational intelligence platform,” Overtel maintains. Among the elements that distinguish the company are its in-house development team, the application of Agile/Scrum methodologies in industrial environments, and consolidated experience in sectors such as food, packaging, canning, metal, and machinery, both within and outside of Spain. “Technology only makes sense if it translates into margin, time saved, and faster decisions,” the company concludes. These statements were made during the ICT Day event, where Overtel participated to discuss the digitalization of industry in the Murcia region.
