Myneral wins German Packaging Award 2026 with CCEP and Vetropack
Myneral, Coca-Cola Europacific Partners Deutschland and Vetropack were recognised in the Digitalisation category for a returnable glass bottle traceability system live at two CCEP DE plants in Germany.
Myneral Labs, Coca-Cola Europacific Partners Deutschland (CCEP DE) and Vetropack have won the German Packaging Award 2026 in the Digitalisation category. The award, presented by the German Packaging Institute (Deutsches Verpackungsinstitut e.V.) based on an independent expert panel's assessment, recognises the strongest packaging innovations in Germany each year.
The winning project gives every returnable glass bottle an individual identity. Vetropack engraves a Data Matrix code onto each 0.75-litre bottle during glass production. MynVision™, Myneral's machine vision hardware, reads that code on every pass through CCEP DE's production lines, allowing individual bottles to be tracked across reuse cycles for the first time rather than estimated at batch level. The system is live at CCEP DE's plants in Bad Neuenahr and Lüneburg.
The judges recognised the project as the first of its kind in the beverage industry: full digital traceability of a returnable glass bottle inventory at unit level, achieved without restructuring the existing returnable system.
